Lotte is a conglomerate founded in 1948 in Japan by Shin Kyuk-ho, an entrepreneur of Korean origin, starting from confectionery (chewing gum and chocolate). The group later expanded strongly in South Korea, where it became one of the leading chaebols.

Lotte is active in food, large-scale retail, hospitality, chemicals and leisure, with a strong dual presence in Japan and South Korea.
