KotobaInteractive
The project

One portal, four sites, a single account.

Kotoba Interactive writes about the cultures of Asia and the English-speaking world, and ties together the four language sites of the suite. The account is the same everywhere.

What Kotoba Interactive is

Kotoba Interactive is the culture portal of the suite: articles, entries and sections on the cultures of Asia and the English-speaking world.

It ties together four language-learning sites — JapaneseSRS, ChineseSRS, EnglishSRS and KoreanSRS. This page covers the project and the account; the media itself, the video and the sections are introduced elsewhere.

Platform details

A single account for the five sites

Identity is central: the account created on the portal is the account of the suite, and an account created on any of the language sites opens the portal. Nothing to create twice, nothing to link.

The same credentials

One email address, one password, valid on all five sites.

One sign-up

Signing up here means signing up to the suite. Having signed up elsewhere is enough to sign in here.

Moving from site to site

From your account, each site opens in one click, without typing your credentials again.

What the account allows today

Three things, on blog articles. Nothing more for now: this page only lists what actually works.

Save an article

The heart, on every article card and at the top of the article, sets the piece aside. Your saved articles live in your account. Saving works on blog articles, not on the other pages of the site.

Like an article

The thumb tells us a piece was worth reading. The count is public, one like per person, and any account can do it — no subscription needed.

Comment on an article

A comment thread follows every article. Reading is open to everyone; writing requires an account. You can delete your own comments.

Read the articles

Suggest an article topic

From your account you can suggest a topic you would like us to cover: a title, plus a few lines of context if you wish. You then follow the status of your request. It is a suggestion sent to the editorial team, not an article editor.

An active subscription is required

Suggesting a topic requires a current subscription on one of the sites of the suite — any of the four will do, since the subscription is central. A running trial and lifetime access count too. Without an active subscription, the request is declined.

Founding members come first

Requests from founding members are handled first. The rank is fixed when the request is filed: a request sent as a founding member keeps its place in the queue afterwards.

Ten suggestions a day

Beyond ten requests in twenty-four hours, sending pauses until the next day.
