Between Narita airport, the industrial port of Tokyo Bay and the theme parks of Urayasu, Chiba holds the capital’s gateways. The Bōsō peninsula stays rural and maritime, with a mild climate allowing two harvests. Noda and Chōshi have produced a major share of Japan’s soy sauce since the seventeenth century, and Kikkoman came out of it.
