Doraemon

Doraemon is a manga created by the duo Fujiko Fujio, first published in 1969. It follows the adventures of a blue robot cat from the future, Doraemon, sent to help a clumsy young boy, Nobita, using extraordinary gadgets. The anime has existed since the 1970s with several successive adaptations.

Extremely popular in Japan and much of Asia, Doraemon has become a symbol of Japanese children's culture and was named an "anime ambassador" by Japan in 2008.
