Sejong administrative city
A ministry three and a half kilometres long, topped by the world’s largest rooftop garden.
On the mapSejong
The government complex, delivered in stages between 2012 and 2015, rejects the tower and the monumental plaza: the fifteen ministries occupy a continuous ribbon of low buildings linked by walkways, whose roof forms a planted promenade three and a half kilometres long, certified by Guinness. The city is laid out with no single centre, around a transport ring, aiming for one resident in three to travel by bicycle. Its population, planned at five hundred thousand by 2030, currently stands near four hundred thousand.
