Astro Boy

Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom) is a work by Osamu Tezuka, whose manga began in 1952. It features Atom, a child-like robot endowed with consciousness and powerful abilities. In 1963, its adaptation became one of the first mass-produced Japanese television animation series.

Often regarded as a founding milestone of anime, Astro Boy lastingly influenced the style and industry of Japanese animation, earning Tezuka the nickname "god of manga."
