The Boseong tea fields

The first terraces were planted in 1939, on hills whose coastal fog and temperature range suit the tea plant. Boseong now supplies about forty percent of Korean green tea, in a landscape of regular curves used as a backdrop by countless dramas and adverts. The spring picking, ujeon, is done before the end of April and yields the finest leaves. The town works tea into everything, from noodles to ice cream and grilled pork raised on tea leaves.
